Does my score receives copyright protection when I publish it on Flat?

First of all, we do not claim any rights over the music you create on our platform. Your content belongs to you.

We are a music notation platform and not a legal entity. Consequently, we do not have a role in this matter. However, we do care about intellectual property rights. Therefore, we provide two measures to facilitate the exercise of this right:

  1. You can add the credits to your score so that people know the song is yours.
  2. Second, you can keep your score private to ensure that only you can access it.

To copyright your score, you need to do so through the relevant institution in your country. We are not experts on this subject, nor do we offer legal advice. Please consult a lawyer specialized in this field.
