The Resource Library

Efficiently manage and organize your assignments in Flat for Education.

The Resource Library is your central hub for creating, viewing, and organizing assignments. Easily accessible from the left-hand menu of your dashboard, it helps you streamline your workflow and enhance collaboration with colleagues.

Key Features

  • Organization: Group assignments into custom folders for easy navigation and retrieval.
  • Inspiration: Explore pre-made sample assignments (FFE Assignments) for ideas and new possibilities.
  • Collaboration: Seamlessly share assignments with colleagues to improve teamwork and efficiency.
  • Creation: Easily create a new assignment by clicking the "+ New Assignment" button onthe top right corner of your page. You'll then be able to choose from a variety of assignment types to suit your needs.

The Resource Library is divided into three sections:

Resource Library Navigation

  • My Assignments: Your personal assignments, organized by folders or list view.
  • Shared Assignments: Access assignments shared with you by colleagues within your organization, and view assignments you've shared with others.
  • FFE Assignments: A collection of ready-to-use assignments created by the Flat for Education team. Use them as-is or customize them to fit your needs.

Filtering Options

A powerful filtering system allows you to quickly find specific assignments. Filter by subject, grade level, or assignment type to navigate your library more efficiently.

To maximize filter effectiveness, be sure to tag assignments when creating them.

Sharing and Collaboration

The Resource Library fosters collaboration, making it easy to share assignments and access resources from colleagues.

  1. Sharing Assignments: Easily share individual assignments with other teachers.
  • To Share: In My Assignments, hover over an assignment, click the three dots, and select "Share". Fill in the details and confirm. The assignment will now appear in "Shared Assignments" and be marked as shared.
  • To Unshare: Hover over a shared assignment, click the three dots, and select "Unshare". Users who previously saved it will still have access in their libraries.

  1. Sharing Collections: Share entire folders of assignments with colleagues to efficiently share groups of related resources.

Easily share entire folders of assignments with colleagues for efficient collaboration.

  • To Share a Collection: Hover over a collection, click the three dots in the top right corner, and select "Share". This grants colleagues access to all assignments in the folder. These assignments will appear in two places:
    • Collections Section: Grouped within the shared collection.
    • Assignments Section: Listed individually alongside other assignments for easy browsing.
  1. Adding Shared Assignments:

Quickly add any shared assignment to your own library for easy access and future use.

  • To Add an Assignment: Locate the shared assignment, click "+ Add", and select "Add to My Assignments". Once added, you can open, edit, and assign it to your classes as needed.
