Use Flat with other MCP-compatible apps
Last updated October 19, 2026
ChatGPT and Claude are not the only apps that can use the Flat connector. It is a standard MCP server, so any assistant, editor or agent that supports remote MCP servers can connect to it, with the same capabilities and limits and the same Flat Power requirement.
What the app needs to support
- Remote MCP servers over HTTP. The connector has no local install: the app connects to
https://mcp.flat.io/mcpdirectly. - Signing in with OAuth. There is no API key to paste. When you connect, the app sends you to Flat's permission page, and you approve the access there. Apps that only accept a token or a password cannot connect.
Connect
- In the app, add a remote MCP server (the menu is often called Connectors, Integrations or MCP servers).
- Enter
https://mcp.flat.io/mcpas the server URL. If the app asks for a name, use Flat. If it asks for an authentication method, choose OAuth. - Connect. Your browser opens Flat's permission page. Check the name shown and click Allow access.
Flat recognizes ChatGPT, Claude and Visual Studio Code by name. Any other app is shown with the name it gave itself, and the permission page tells you how much of that Flat could verify: at best the domain the app comes from, and for an app that registered itself on the fly, nothing at all, in which case the button reads Allow anyway. That is normal: make sure it is the app you just set up before approving.
Disconnect
Remove the server from the app, or open your Flat account settings, find the app under Link external accounts and apps, click Unlink and confirm.
