Buzz note

A buzz note (also known as a muted note, dead note, or percussive note) produces a dampened, unpitched sound instead of a clear pitch. It is commonly used on string instruments, guitar, and bass to create a percussive effect — the string is struck but muffled so it buzzes rather than rings.

To add a buzz note, select a note and then click the buzz note symbol in the Articulation toolbar.
